El Paso Automobile Dealers Reward $36,000 in Scholarships to Local Students

The El Paso New Car Dealers Association (EPNCDA) and its board members are pleased to announce they are giving away a record-breaking $36,000 for the 2025-2026 academic year. The recipients will be recognized at 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10 at the EPNCDA Annual Luncheon to be held in the Trost Ballroom of the Plaza Hotel in Downtown El Paso. The scholarship recipients will be recognized following a business meeting with keynote speaker UTEP President Dr. Heather Wilson. The 17 students will receive a scholarship ranging from $6,000 - $1,000 for a total of $36,000. The EPNCDA Scholarship Fund was established in 2015, thanks to the success of the EPNCDA’s annual golf tournament and Skeet & Trap Shoot. The Association has remained dedicated to continued education for students in the El Paso community and has already awarded over $240,000 to 202 students, all local dealership employees or their dependents.
EPNCDA President Rick Wallace of Mission Chevrolet is inspired to see the dealers unite around a purpose greater than business, lifting their community and supporting higher education.
“Our employees are the heart of everything we do—their dedication, drive, and service are what keep our industry moving forward,” says Wallace. “Supporting their families and children pursuing college degrees in one of the most meaningful ways we can show our gratitude.”
These scholarships reflect the local dealers’ shared commitment to education and community. As an evolving industry, the car business relies on dedicated professionals in every department to keep up with new challenges and innovations. El Paso franchise dealers are proud to support these employees and their families as they work to best serve El Paso consumers.
The El Paso New Car Dealers Association (EPNCDA) Scholarship Program application period is now closed. The 2025-2026 Scholarship winners will be announced on June 10 at the EPNCDA Annual Meeting at The Plaza Hotel at 12:00 pm. Recipients will also be notified by email prior to ensure their presence at the meeting.
EPNCDA Board of Directors has updated its policy of eligible dealerships for the program to include only those who supported at least one of our fundraisers, whether by participating with a team or sponsoring a sign at the 2024 Golf Tournament and/or the 2025 Trap Shoot.
The list of qualified dealerships is below. Employees, their dependents, and their grandchildren are eligible to apply for a scholarship from these stores only.
