2019-2020 EPNCDA Scholarship Recipients

The El Paso New Car Dealers Association (EPNCDA) and its board members are pleased to announce the nineteen recipients of the EPNCDA Scholarship Fund for the 2019-2020 academic year. The recipients were recognized on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at the EPNCDA Annual Luncheon held at the El Paso Club. These recipients will each receive $750-$1,000 from the EPNCDA Scholarship Fund. The EPNCDA Scholarship Fund was established in 2015, thanks to the success of the EPNCDA’s annual golf tournament. The Association has remained dedicated to continued education for students in the El Paso community and has already awarded nearly 70 scholarships to students, all dependents of the employees of local dealerships.

"We received a record number of applications this year,” says Barbara Armendariz of Subaru of El Paso and President of EPNCDA. "The employees at the local dealerships are like family, so we are proud to support them and help further their children’s education."

Recipients of this year’s scholarships are Luz Aguirre – UTEP, Valeria Virrueta – Texas A&M College Station, Alyssa Maldonado – UTEP, Zoraya Yanar – New Mexico State University, Zoe Beltran – UTEP, Bryan Delgado – UTEP, Luis-Carlos Jurado – UTEP, Kameron Keoho – UTEP, Shaylyn Mulligan – Texas Woman’s University, Samantha Escandon – El Paso Community College, Abigail Nevarez – UTEP, Victoria Love-Appling – UTEP, Kiara Keoho – UTEP, Bryan Canales – UTEP, Edna Rivas Morales – El Paso Community College, Bianca Badillo – UTEP, Mateo Nevarez – Texas Tech University, Angel Badillo – UTEP, Madison Nevarez – Texas Tech University. These 19 recipients have met and exceeded the requirements of this scholarship. The EPNCDA is proud to award them with these scholarships and aid in their journey for higher education.

“For generations, the Texas franchise dealer industry is based on community and family,” said EPNCDA Executive Director Lexi Buquet. “These scholarships are a way for the El Paso dealers to unite and share their appreciation for so many hardworking students in the community.”
