El Paso Automobile Dealers Reward $20,000 in Scholarships to Local Students

The El Paso New Car Dealers Association (EPNCDA) and its board members are pleased to announce the 21 recipients of the

EPNCDA Scholarship Fund for the 2021-2022 academic year. The recipients will be recognized at 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 24 at the EPNCDA Annual Luncheon to be held at the EP Natural Gas Conference Center at UTEP. The scholarship recipients will be recognized following a business meeting with keynote speaker UTEP President Heather Wilson. These students will each receive a scholarship ranging from $500 - $2,000 for a total of $20,000. The EPNCDA Scholarship Fund was established in 2015, thanks to the success of the EPNCDA’s annual golf tournament. The Association has remained dedicated to continued education for students in the El Paso community and has already awarded over $111,000 to 113 students, all dependents of the employees of local dealerships.

"Employees are the backbone of every dealership,” says Jose Negrete of Audi El Paso and President of EPNCDA. "It is great that the dealers, as a group, can support them in this way."

The last year was a challenging time for the community. Dealerships remained focused on making sure their employees had jobs and taking extra measures to create a safe and healthy work environment.

“Especially as families recover from the pandemic, these scholarships will lessen the financial burden on the students so they can focus more on their education,” says EPNCDA Executive Director Lexi Buquet.
